OK AMIGOS (formerly known as Doghouse) is a five piece band from Bearsden and Milngavie playing music which is a blend of influences such as Steely Dan, Ry Cooder, John Hiatt and J.J Cale. The songs go down such musical streets with flavours of blues, latin and rock grooves.

This evening, the band will open the first half with some Ry Cooder, John Hiatt, JJ.Cale songs and a song called "Chasing the dark" which was written by Erne. The music will compliment the Tex Mex theme and will also include some of our original songs.

The evening will also feature guest musicians Mike Simon, Chris Parkin and Michael Parkin.

The Band
Blending their influences such as Steely Dan, Ry Cooder and J J Cale they set out to find the grooves to compliment the lyrics and melodies of the songs. John McNamara writes the songs, plays drums and is also the lead vocalist. The songs come from many areas in life. No Response is a song about Katrina which struck New Orleans. Then there is Stan`s song - a real favourite of ours written in memory of Stan Myers an old buddy and well known local character. Zoqui Talky is a song based around the threat of the loss of an indigionous language in Mexico.

Tim Black plays acoustic and electric guitars. Iain Reekie and Pat McCambridge are on keyboards and Ed McGlone is on Bass. All four add backing vocals to the mix. The result is a band commited to creating original music, enthusiastic and passionate about their music which is evident in their live performances.
